Rolling paper storage

Postby 'G' on 21 Oct 2009, 04:16

In the spring, amid my pre-SCHIP stock-up period, I laid in supplies of my favorite rolling papers. I stocked up on Rizla smooth, Rizla white, and JOB French Lights. After 6+ months, the JOBs work fine but the Rizlas have become difficult to glue shut- they often come loose after going thru the hand roller. My apartment tends towards the humid- especially over the summer and I have read papers need to be stored in a cool dry place.

Anyone else have issues with storage? Can you confirm that dry storage prevents deterioration? Suggestions for rehab? Thanks in advance for any input.

I dont use all that many papers, I make one that tastes like a lucky strike, and one that tastes like a camel straight(are supposed to taste, anyway).I keep my packets in a ziplock bag,in a cool dry place if one can be found.
Now this is gonna sound a little off topic, but I cant seem to find a way to start a new topic,so posting this as closely related as possible. As I just explained, I love a good filterless smoke about two times a day, and I was lucky enough to get about 600 free papers with a pound of something, cant really remember what, but they were red and called" premium cigarette papers",made in India, distributed by king maker marketing...I think they came in the one and only bag of checkers I ever bought.I went to a tobacco shop and looking for a cheap, but suitable replacement bought a packet of rizla blue, for 69 cents and a double packet of buglers, 115 leaves times 2,for a dollar.got home and decided to try them out with my "camel straight blend".
First, I attempted to smoke the bugler, and noticed right away while rolling the paper around my bic pen that it was nowhere near as transparent as my old faves. Then came the taste test: HOLY FARGIN SHEEEIT! What the hell is this? Newspaper? I couldn't even get through three drags before tearing it up and trying the rizla blue, which looks like a suitable replacement for my faves. :yesnod: Still dont know what I'm gonna do with the premiere and bugler papers I have accumulated, maybe pre-measured powder loads for my black powder pistol?

Yeah, those papers most likely came with a bag of Checkers. I had a bunch of those papers around from my one time purchase of it. I tossed them some time ago or I'd offer to send them your way. My tobacco cabinet was getting way too cluttered up with all the various books of papers that come with this tobacco or that so I tossed the better part of them. I do hand roll sometimes, but my paper collection way outstripped my needs.

Any tips for carrying papers when walking driving etc.? I keep mine in my wallet which probably isn't a good idea, and I notice the gum doesn't stick as well now, but it still does the job.
